A balloon is filled with water.
Continuous hum of the motor pump is in the background. The pump draws water 3 meters up and 2.5 meters across. Rhythmical plopping of the water echoes in the foreground. Water drops down into a pool inside a rubber skin balloon measuring up to 90 centimeter in diameter when in full expansion. With time, tension is created by the contrast between apparent calmness of the balloon’s pink surface and the viewer’s anticipation for its explosion. The process takes about 90 minutes to 120 minutes until the balloon explodes.
